NEW FEATURES & MODIFICATIONS:

Forms: The method for filtering reports was fundamentally changed. The legacy method was that Disc Reports would inherit the active sort and filter present in the File>Open>Discs Form and the Movie Reports would inherit the active sort and filter present in the File>Open>Movies Form. This method while elegant is not easy for users to deduce and remember. Two new forms were introduced to provide a explicit means to set the sort and filter properties of the textual reports. The first form can be opened at the View>Reports>Discs>Sort and Filter… and the second form can be opened at the View>Reports>Movies>Sort and Filter… The sort and filter settings, if set by the user, are stored in the Windows Registry so that reports will keep a favorite sort or filter until changed. By default all the textual reports sort on Title and then by Year Released with no active filter.

In addition to the more intuitive report sort and filter, the new Disc form introduces a semi-custom report that is easier to understand and use then the fully customer report. The new movie form introduces a capability to search for a specific Direct and Actor working on the same movie or two specific actors that appear in the same movie.

Reports: Most reports were changed to work with the new method of sorting and filter. The title block of most reports was change to show the active sort and filter when the report was generated.

KNOWN BUGS:

BUG FIXES:

CHANGES TO THE REFERENCE CATALOG:
Incremental reference updates DVDCAT156, DVDCAT157 and DVDCAT158 were incorporated.

Help on New Forms Introduced in Release 1.23.11

Disc Report Laucher:

Use the menu command View>Reports>Discs>Filter and Sort... to show the Disc Reports Launcher:

Click on the command buttons to open the report in screen preview mode. Disc Reports will sort by default on Title and then Year Released. You can use the quick filter option group to filter your catalog by type of disc. For example click on the "BluRay" only option to generate a report of BluRay titles only.

Select the "Sort & Filter Tab" to change the order of the report or apply an advanced filter to the report. Select the "Edit" command button to modify the settings of the Semi-Custom Report.

You can apply an advanced sort and filter to any report that can be launched from the Disc Report Launcher. Your selections are saved in the Windows Registry. The next time you open the Disc Report Launcher your most recent settings will be restored. Any time you run a report, the previous saved filter and sort will be active.
Sorting: You can change the order of titles in the report by selecting the fields in the catalog to use as the primary and secondary sort. You can set the sort order to be from A-to-Z or alphabetic ascending order or from Z-to-A or alphabetic order descending. The field from the catalog that that you select does not have to be included on the report.
Filtering: By default a report will include all of the titles in your catalog. Sometime you would like to see a report that includes a selection of titles but not all titles. For example the filter show above will limit titles show in the report to include only DVD Movies Rated PG-13. The most common filters are by Disc Type and Classification. However you can create a filter based upon other fields in the catalog using the "Other Field" control. When you choose multiple filter criteria the criteria is applied as a logical AND for example (Disc Type = DVD) AND (Classification = MOVIE) AND (MPAA = PG13).
Title Caption: You can customize the caption for reports using the Title Caption: text box. The user defined value will replace the default caption on the report.
Data Preview: You may want to see the titles that will be included in the report. The Data Preview command button will produce a quick look at the titles as they will appear in the report using the current filter and sort.
Reset to Defaults: This command button will clear all of the settings stored in the Windows Registry and set the form back to the original factory settings.

Menu: View>Reports>Discs>Sort and Filter...:Select Reports Tab

The Semi Custom Disc Report provides an easy way to customize a report to include the catalog fields that you want to see in the report. The report can include up to 9 columns. In the example above 7 of the columns are in use and two are empty. You can select the catalog field that you want to assign to each column. You can adjust the width that you want to dedicate to the column and you can select the font that you want to use. The settings shown above will generate the example report shown below:

To run the report, use the "Semi Custom" launcher button on the Disc Report Launcher.
Reset to Defaults: You Semi Custom settings are stored in the Windows Registry. When you click the "Reset to Defaults" command button the settings are cleared fro the Windows Registry and the report is set back to the factory defaults.

Feature Reports Launcher:

Use the menu command View>Reports>Features>Filter and Sort... to show the Feature Reports Launcher:

In the DVD Register catalog, Disc Titles represent the retail package be it a Laserdisc or DVD. There may be one or more movies programs recording in the package. Collectively movies and programs are called Features. Features include a classification, themes, performers and so forth. Feature titles are cataloged separately from Disc Titles. For Example "Goldfinger (1964)" is a feature. The Goldfinger Special Edition DVD is a disc title that happen to include the Goldfinger (1964) feature. The James Bond DVD Collection may include Goldfinger and other features from the James Bond Franchise. Click on the command buttons to preview the selected feature report. By default, all features that you have in your catalog will be included in the report and will be sorted by Titile and the by Year Released. You can use the Sort & Filter tab to chage teh order of features and can filter the titles. Click on the Performing Together tab to search either Your Personal Catalog or The Reference Catalog for actors and directors performing together on the same feature.

Use the View>Reports>Features>Sort and Filter...:Sort and Filter Tab to change the sort and filter for any Feature Report that can be launched from the Select Report tab:

By default, the Feature Reports are sorted by Title and then by Year Released. Using this tab you can change the order and filter the titles that will appear in the report. In the example show above the Features reports will include only Science Fiction Movies Directed by Robert Zemeckis. You can filter on up to five attributes. When you choose multiple filter criteria the criteria is applied as a logical AND for example ( (Classification = MOVIE) AND (Theme = Science Fiction) AND (Director = Robert Zemeckis).
Performing Together: You can use the Performing Together Tab to find features in the catalog where a specific Director is working with a Specific Actor or two specific actors appear in the same feature.

You can use the Performing Together Tab to find a Director and Actor working together in the same feature or you can find two actors working together in the same feature. (View>Report>Features>Sort and Filter...:Performing Together)
